Environmental conference attracted the interest of the public
In the framework of the International Day of the Environment, PETROPERU held the Webinar "Principles of Environmental Management", with the purpose of raising awareness of six basic ideas for the construction of a sustainable future.
The topics addressed are linked to the current situation, serving as a basis to continue with a responsible management of biodiversity, ecosystems and the care and protection of the environment in general.
The conference, which lasted for several days -through the Cisco Webex platform- had the participation of prominent specialists, such as Eric Concepción, Technical Manager of CEIMIC, with the topic “The effect of COVID-19 on the Air Quality in Lima ”; Antoine Babilotte, Operations Manager - SECHE Group Peru, who addressed everything related to "Solid Waste Management in the times of COVID-19".
Likewise, Carlos Martínez, Manager of Social Responsibility and Valorization of Waste of COMIMTEL RECYCLING, spoke on the topic “Waste from Electrical and Electronic Equipment in Peru” and César Cornejo,
Development Manager of ENGIE Energía Perú, addressing everything related to "Energy of the future, towards a world with less carbon".
Isela Arce Castañeda, from the Directorate for the Sustainable Management of Forest Heritage - SERFOR, with the theme "Management of Biodiversity as a value generator" and Juan del Carmen Gallarday Pretto, Manager of the Environmental Department of PETROPERU, with the presentation "Management of Biodiversity, Companies and Shared Value”, closed the important day.
This seminar, which counted with the participation of more than 1700 participants, reaffirms that industry, production and the economy are perfectly compatible with the conservation and care of the environment, within a framework of sustainability, with firm commitments and actions that the markets demand with more and more momentum and conviction to the Company, society and the State.
It is gratifying for PETROPERU that, through these presentations, our permanent commitment to responsible and modern environmental management can be strengthened, which is evidenced by clear actions such as the recent approval of our Institutional Policy on Biodiversity Management.
