Eduardo Guevara Dodds appointed chairman of the board of PETROPERU

The General Shareholders Meeting of PETROPERU appointed Eduardo Alfredo Guevara Dodds as the new Chairman of the Board of Directors of the state company, during the Universal Session of the General Shareholders Meeting held today, April 3, 2020. The appointment takes effect on Monday 6 of April.

Guevara Dodds is a lawyer from the Pontificia Universidad Católica del Perú and Master of Laws from the Southern Methodist University in Dallas, Texas. He has more than 20 years of professional practice as legal adviser to companies in various industries, including the hydrocarbons, telecommunications, aeronautics and mining sectors.

He recently served as Vice Minister of Hydrocarbons at the Ministry of Energy and Mines, being responsible for monitoring the policies and regulatory issues of the entire hydrocarbon industry from upstream to downstream, covering not only issues related to companies' investments but also the social problems that affect the extractive industries.

His previous professional experience has been developed mainly as Partner in charge of the Hydrocarbon area of Estudio Echecopar (a member of Baker & Mckenzie International), having advised hydrocarbon companies that carry out exploration and exploitation activities, as well as companies involved in storage and marketing. of hydrocarbons.

After the appointment of Guevara Dodds as Chairman of the Board of Directors, Carlos Barrientos Gonzales resumes his duties as General Manager of PETROPERU from April 6 onwards.
