Earthquake in Amazonas did not cause damage to PETROPERÚ's North Peruvian Pipeline

After the magnitude 6.8 earthquake that occurred on February 3, 90 km east of Santa María de Nieva, Condorcanqui province, Amazonas Region, PETROPERÚ, through the actions undertaken in the face of this type of natural phenomenon, verified that the infrastructure of the North Peruvian Pipeline (ONP) has not suffered any damage so far.

Once the event occurred, PETROPERÚ activated the contingency plan that, as immediate actions, considers communication with all the pumping stations and with the work fronts located at various points along the 1,106km route of the ONP, with no damage to the pipeline being reported.

In addition, the preventive shutdown of the pumping of Section I was ordered and field activities were paralyzed until the presence of damage or effects was verified.

Meanwhile, land patrols in Section I and Section II are carried out normally. All actions are carried out considering the protocol provided for in the face of the current health emergency. The monitoring will continue in the coming days to rule out any damage or any risk that affects the pipeline.
