Deans of the College of Engineers made a technical visit to the New Talara Refinery
The departmental deans of the College of Engineers of Peru (CIP) - Northeast zone made a technical visit to the facilities of the New Talara Refinery, which continues its process of gradual and progressive start-up tests, with a view to its commissioning in the last quarter of this year, to fulfill its strategic role of supplying the country with clean and quality fuels.
The visit began with a technical presentation on the construction of PETROPERÚ's new and modern refining complex, to later continue with a guided tour of its facilities, in which they were introduced to the Control Room and the modern technologies implemented to crude processing.
The New Talara Refinery has 16 process units and five packages of auxiliary units and complementary services, two liquid loading docks and 21 new storage tanks, being one of the most modern deep conversion refineries on the South Pacific coast.
When it comes into operation, it will process up to 95,000 barrels per day to produce fuels with up to 50 parts per million (ppm) of sulfur that will help preserve air quality and the health of Peruvians.
