Cultural night, walking through the legendary QHAPAQ ÑAN
It is completely free to enter the exposition and will be open to the public until June 11th.
The opening of the exhibition “Qhapaq Ñan, memorias de territorios, voces y piedras” “Qhapaq Ñan, territories, voices and stones memories”) was on Thursday night (14) at the Art Gallery of PETROPERU’s Cultural Center where the work of many artists and investigators: Walter Wust, Antonio Gargate, Aldo Bolaños, Rudolph Castro y Sébastien Jallade is gathered.
Anyone that has the opportunity to visit this exhibition can witness the symbolic and arquitectural complexity of Qhapaq Ñan and the importance of being a World Heritage, declared by UNESCO in 2014.
The curator of the exhibition, Guadalupe Martinez, pointed out that the constant support from the oil company to artistic representations as of Qhapaq Ñan has made it possible for the public to witness the Inca millenary culture, in which she said has a mixture of landscapes, people and ideas.
UndoubtedlyIt, is important to mention that Qhapaq Ñan was the main trail of an extensive web of trails that was sewed in the Inca times and it has connected the territories of six of today’s countries. This trail was used as a way of managing the territory and although it has suffered profound historical changes some parts keep its functionality and value alive.
The exhibition will be open to the public until June 19th. It is COMPLETELY FREE from Monday to Friday from 11 a.m to 8 p.m and on Saturdays and Sundays from 1 to 6 p.m at the Art Gallery of PETROPERU’s Cultural Center located in Av. Enrique Canaval Moreyra 150, San Isidro.
