As part of the actions implemented at kilometer 55 of Section I of the North Peruvian Pipeline (ONP), in the Nueva Alianza native community (Loreto), PETROPERÚ placed two barriers in addition to the existing ones in order to reinforce the containment of crude, after the last intentional cut that generated a new environmental contingency in the area.

Likewise, since the afternoon of Tuesday, August 9, the cleaning of traces of hydrocarbons has been carried out focused on the contingency area, work that in the previous days was interrupted by the stoppage of free traffic in the Marañón, due to the fact that the Leaders demanded that the workers who were securing the containment barriers withdraw.

These actions are carried out in line with the Contingency Plan and have been communicated to the corresponding entities. Likewise, it is important to specify that Section I has been stopped since February 13 of the present.

To date, PETROPERÚ has been dealing with nine environmental contingencies as a result of the more than 40 cuts caused in the pipeline by third parties, attacks that have been confirmed and are being investigated by the National Police and the Public Ministry.
