Constructions on the Iquitos Refinery pipeline are prohibited by supreme decree
In order to protect the residents, avoid damages and legal consequences, the local authority carried out the removal of the sales stalls that merchants had recently installed on the right of way of the pipeline, in the area of the community of Santo Tomás, in front of Bellavista Nanay.
Likewise, and in coordination with community leaders, posts have been placed surrounding the area and signs warning of the presence of underground pipelines transporting fuels from the Iquitos Refinery to the Iquitos Sales Plant.
The pipeline is an underground connection of pipes, used to transfer the fuels required by the Loreto region for the development of its productive activities.
Supreme Decree No. 081-2017-E determines an area of 12.5 meters on each side of the axis of the pipeline, known as the "polyduct right of way" and throughout this installation of approximately 14.5 kilometers, it is not allowed. no type of construction.
The alert of the presence of these stalls on the polyduct was given by the residents of Santo Tomás, who are constantly trained by PETROPERÚ in actions of protection and security of the polyduct.
