Construction works of the New Ilo Terminal continue

The latest figures regarding the execution of the New Terminal Ilo, of PETROPERU, reveal that the progress in the EPC Service (Engineering, Procurement and Construction) reaches -to date- 25.94%, being the work in the improvement phase of land for the foundations of the sales and billing offices; income control and reports.

Likewise, the excavation work continues for the storage and workshop areas, as well as the construction of the interior perimeter fence, which includes, among other points, the installation of poles to install the metal mesh.

As you know, this new terminal is located 24 kilometers from Ilo, in front of El Palo beach, in the Loma La Buitrera area; adjacent to ENGIE's electric power generation thermal power plant. It will distribute, for the southern zone of the country, gasohol of 84, 90 and 95 octanes, and diesel B5-S50 for the Bolivian market. It will initially have a storage capacity of 293 thousand barrels, whose growth, in the following stages, will be up to one million barrels.

LOCAL LABOR

PETROPERU, through the contractor company Felguera - in charge of the work - gives preference to the local workforce for the works. Thus, to date about 73% of the total workers are from Ilo. The oil company reaffirms in this way its commitment to contribute to the development of the Moquegua region, offering job opportunities to the local population.

The calls for employment will be made by the contractors themselves and are channeled through the Ministry of Labor. These labor requirements are made according to the progress of the work and the required profiles.

It should also be noted that, at its peak of personnel requirements, 300 workers will be hired.
