Conchán Refinery opens two storage tanks on its 46th anniversary
PETROPERU inaugurated two storage tanks with a 160 thousand barrel capacity each, as part of the celebrations for the 46th anniversary of Conchán Refinery. The commemorative events were chaired by the Refining Manager, Mr. Gerardo León Castillo, the Conchán Refinery Manager, José Oliver Linares, and the workers of the industrial facility, located at kilometer 26.5 of the Southern Pan-American Highway, in the district of Lurín, Lima.
During the ceremony, Mr. Gerardo León highlighted the effort and commitment of each of the workers demonstrated in the use of these new structures, which will allow facing the new challenges of the Company associated with the construction of the New Talara Refinery.
The two tanks destined for the storage of crude were built in accordance with the international standard, are of the floating roof type and have geodesic domes. Likewise, it has systems of automatic measurement of level and temperature, modern firefighting systems, among other characteristics that allow their operation in an efficient way.
It should be noted that these tanks allow increasing the storage capacity of Conchán Refinery to 2.3 million barrels. Likewise, there are plans to build four additional structures.
The Conchán Refinery Deputy Manager, José Oliver Linares, stressed that this will allow greater operational flexibility in the discharge of fuels, which will be reflected in shorter service times.
Conchán Refinery celebrates 46 years with the purpose of processing, refining and storing products such as gasolines, solvents, Diesel 2, Diesel B5, industrial oils and export-quality asphalts.
