Communities surrounding the Iquitos Refinery pipeline participate in clearing works

Around 200 residents of the communities surrounding the Iquitos refinery, in the Loreto region, participate in the cleanup work in the areas surrounding the polyduct of the aforementioned plant, which includes the collection of weeds and weeding.

This is within the framework of the "Cleaning and Clearing Service of the Iquitos Refinery Poliduct Right of Way" program, where participants are informed about emergencies and the interpretation of safety signs installed along the right of way, among other topics.

It should be noted that the right-of-way of this pipeline consists of 25 meters, which is required to be free of brush in order to carry out the route, inspection or carry out repair work. This activity thus guarantees the safe transport of fuels to the city of Iquitos and, at the same time, generates employment for the inhabitants of the communities, with whom an agreement has been signed.

This work strengthens the links with the communities of Barrio Florido, Costanera, Astoria, Independencia, El Milagro, Santa Clotilde and Santo Tomás, since it allows their inhabitants to generate jobs.

The Iquitos Refinery pipeline, along its journey underground to the Sales Plant, adjoins various communities that it has always considered its best neighbors, seeking to implement activities that affect the improvement of their living conditions.
