Communities near the Iquitos refinery will begin clearing works

With the participation of residents of the Barrio Florido, Santa Clara Zona I, Santa Clara Zona II and Santa Clara Zona III communities, Petroperú will begin -this February 13- the clearing work in the areas near the Iquitos Refinery.

The communal work consists of weeding and weeding in the green areas outside the refinery, which is carried out periodically to prevent disproportionate growth of grasses and the proliferation of reptiles in the area.

Before starting work, the 45 participants will be trained on occupational health and safety procedures. In addition, they will be provided with the necessary implements so that they can carry out their work safely.

These works, which will end in December of this year, constitute a source of employment for the inhabitants of the communities neighboring the Iquitos Refinery, in the province of Maynas, Loreto region. Likewise, it contributes to reinforce the surveillance of this strategic industrial facility of Petroperú for the supply of fuels in the Amazon.
