College students visited Bayóvar Terminal
Students of the professional career of Business Engineering of the César Vallejo University - Piura Location and of the Program of Studies of Occupational Health and Safety and Environment of the Private Higher Technological Education Institute Abaco - Piura, were able to learn more about the industry process of hydrocarbons in the facilities of PETROPERU Bayóvar Terminal.
The engineer Carlos Cabrera Cruzado, Bayóvar Operations Supervisor, was in charge of the technical talk and, at the beginning of the tour, announced the operations that are carried out from the Control Room of the terminal for the reception, storage, shipment and landing of crude. This terminal is the point of embarkation of the crude that carries the North Peruvian Pipeline (ONP) from the wells located in the Peruvian jungle.
Subsequently, in the Tank Yard, the students learned about the process that is followed for the reception of the smart cleaning scraper, an instrument that runs through the pipe collecting important information to maintain the integrity of the ONP. Likewise, the installed capacity of 1.8 million barrels of the Bayóvar Terminal was highlighted, which constitutes an articulating element to supply crude oil to refineries nationwide, as well as for export.
Finally, they were transferred to Bayóvar dock, where students and teachers were able to learn about the dispatch process and observe the four loading arms, each with a capacity of 25 thousand barrels per hour.
PETROPERU periodically carries out guided visits to its operations as part of its Social Management Policy, which is oriented towards integration with its stakeholders through the dissemination of the work carried out in its facilities, respecting the environment and supporting the community.
