Cloud observed over the Talara Refinery corresponds to water steam

In relation to the video that has been circulating on social media, Petroperú informs the population that the cloud observed yesterday over the Talara Refinery was generated exclusively by water vapor, as part of a scheduled cleaning procedure in the system lines.

During this operation, a controlled blowing of steam through the pipes was carried out, a common practice in the industry to ensure the optimal operation of the equipment used for fuel production.

It is important to clarify that this activity was carried out safely and did not generate contamination, since water vapor is a natural substance that disperses without leaving residues or affecting the environment.

Petroperú reiterates that the Talara Refinery has been operating normally, optimally and in compliance with environmental standards. It also reaffirms its commitment to safety, care for the environment and transparency in its operations.
