Clean air is health at Conchán Refinery

- Environmental monitoring is done monthly with an accredited laboratory
- The population is periodically informed about the results of the measurements
Clean air is health at Conchán Refinery

According to the results obtained from the monthly environmental monitoring carried out at the PETROPERU Conchán Refinery facilities during the past year, the air quality complies with the Environmental Quality Standards (ECA) for Air and complementary provisions required by the Ministry of the Environment ( MINAM).

These measurements, which are performed by an accredited laboratory with test methods certified by the National Institute of Quality, showed that concentrations of particulate material smaller than 2.5 and 10 microns are below the ECA of the current environmental regulations (DS 003 -2017 MINAM) and, therefore, comply with environmental quality standards.

Also, other parameters evaluated such as sulfur dioxide, hydrogen sulfide, nitrogen dioxide and carbon monoxide also meet these standards.

It should be noted that in the monitoring stations where the air quality evaluations are carried out, the impact on the environment generated by the activities external to the refinery is also recorded, such as those coming from the vehicle fleet, road construction works, among others.

It is important to note that the Conchán Refinery periodically shares with the Socio-Environmental Monitoring Committee, promoted by the Company and composed of the leaders of the community, the results of these studies to keep the population informed in a transparent and timely manner.

This way, PETROPERU reaffirms its commitment to caring for the environment, complying with the parameters established by the auditing entities and disclosing information of importance to the population close to its facilities.
