Civil society representatives make guided visit to the Talara Refinery safety landfill
A visit to the safety landfill of Talara Refinery, Milla Seis, was set up for the members of the Community Committee for Socio-Environmental Monitoring (CCMSA) of the Talara Refinery Modernization Project (PMRT), where they verified compliance with the Environmental Management Plan (PMA) and regulations in force by PETROPERU and its contractors.
During the scheduled visit as part of their work plan, PETROPERU staff informed them of the process that follows for the final disposal of solid waste from operations, projects and work carried out at Talara Refinery and the PMRT, which are carried out in compliance with the Environmental Policy and WFP.
The CCMSA was established in May 2015 as part of the Participatory Socio-Environmental Monitoring Program that is part of the Community Relations Plan of the Environmental Impact Assessment (EIA) of the PMRT. It is composed of representatives of the most representative interest groups of the PMRT, elected by democratic vote.
The members of the CCMSA have as main function to accompany, verify, monitor, interpret and socialize the results of the environmental monitoring actions that are carried out periodically. For this, they have been trained in different environmental issues, which allows them to make an adequate interpretation of the results of the actions of each monitoring.
