CCMSA makes guided visit to landfill
Continuing with the execution of its work plan, the Community Committee for Socio-Environmental Monitoring (CCMSA), in line with the provisions of the Community Relations Plan (PRC) of the Environmental Impact Study (EIA) of the Talara Refinery Modernization Project (PMRT) ), conducted a guided visit to the BERACA private landfill, where he verified the processes that are carried out for the final disposal of hazardous and non-hazardous waste deposited by various companies with operations in the city.
In the private security landfill, located at kilometer 1024 of the North Pan American Highway, CCMSA members knew the landfill records, the processes that are carried out for the disposal of hazardous and non-hazardous waste from weighing, verification, temporary storage, classification, until final disposal; and environmental protection actions that are carried out in compliance with current legal regulations.
These experiential learning activities, organized by PETROPERU, aim to strengthen the knowledge of CCMSA members for the evaluation, monitoring and interpretation of the main evaluation indicators of environmental components: air, water, soil and noise and subsequent socialization of the results to the community.
