Until next Wednesday, September 30 is the call to participate in the XXI Story Biennial and VII Essay Biennial «2020 Copé Award». As part of the measures against COVID-19, participation will be virtual through the contest website.

 

On this page you can also review the competition rules in both categories and review all the information to participate in the 2020 edition of the literary contest organized by PETROPERU.

All Peruvians residing in Peru or abroad, and foreign nationals nationalized or resident in Peru, may apply without distinction, except the winners of the Gold Copé Award from the previous biennials of Story and Essay. Contestants may submit more than one work to the contest, provided they do so under different pseudonyms.

The 2020 Copé Award Jury, in each category, will be made up of a representative from the following institutions: Academia Peruana de la Lengua, Pontificia Universidad Católica del Perú, Universidad Mayor de San Marcos, Ministry of Culture and PETROPERU. The ruling will be final and will be announced publicly in December of this year.

Copé Award

The Copé Award is a literary contest organized and promoted by PETROPERU since 1979. This year the Copé Award celebrates 41 years of constant promotion and dissemination of Peruvian literature throughout the country. In addition, this incessant work is one more expression of PETROPERU's corporate social responsibility as part of its commitment to the development of culture and literary creation in Peru.
