Board of PETROPERU makes inspection visit to Bayovar Terminal

On Friday, September 7, a new decentralized session of the Petroperu Board of Directors took place at the facilities of the Operations Subdivision of the North Peruvian Pipeline. As part of the program, the president of the company, James Atkins Lerggios; the vice president, Hernán Barros Cruchaga; the directors, Patricia Elliot Blas and Alex Alvarado Arauzo; the general manager, Esteban Bertarelli Bustamante; as well as other officials, made an inspection visit at the Bayóvar Terminal.

The president, James Atkins, emphasized the commitment of the personnel that works in this headquarters, which is fundamental for the achievement of the institutional objectives and the optimal execution of the operations, fulfilling high standards of quality and environmental protection.

At the beginning of the tour, the visitors learned in detail the operations that are carried out from the control room of the terminal for the reception, storage, loading and unloading of crude; Later, at the Bayóvar wharf, officials participated in the demonstration of the dispatch process, by putting into operation one of the four loading arms, each with a capacity of 25 thousand barrels per hour, making a total of 100 thousand barrels/hour.

In the Tank Yard, the Sub-Director of Operations, North Peruvian Pipeline, Dino Valdiviezo gave details of the process that is followed for the reception of the cleaning and smart pig, instrument that runs through the pipeline collecting important information to maintain the integrity of the ONP. With an installed capacity of 1.8 million barrels, the Bayóvar Terminal is an articulating element to supply crude oil to refineries nationwide, as well as for export.

During the visit, the PETROPERU Board held two meetings with workers, which were held in Bayóvar and Piura; On both occasions, the collaborators expressed their dedication and commitment to PETROPERU, in addition to their constant willingness to take on important challenges, such as the Pipeline modernization project.

The Board of Directors will continue to implement its policy of decentralizing its meetings in the different operations of the Company.

Also, Mr. Atkins attended the invitation of the rector of the University of Piura, Dr. Antonio Abruña, who along with teachers from this house of studies offered an interesting tour of the campus to the PETROPERU official. Both institutions agree on the importance of establishing alliances for the benefit of the Piura region, which reaffirms the commitment of the Company to promote development in our country.
