Board Director of PETROPERU personally supervises the recovering of the Peruvian Oil Pipeline

Board director of PETROPERU, German Velasquez Salazar had eagerly participated in the area where a damage had been reported at the 206 KM of the Peruvian Oil Pipeline (Northern Detour), by personally giving instructions to the qualified workers of the state company whom was able to immediately reduce the risk.

In this way, the Board Director of PETROPERU was able to verified that the restoration of the damage is been taken care through a systematised and specialised technological process in spite of the wilderness and the harsh climate conditions presented in the area.

Moreover, the state company counts with the support of the settlers from the surrounding communities. Through their leaders, they have accepted to participate working on the recovering and have completely rejected the hiring of underage workers for these tasks this means that PETROPERU is strictly prohibited to do so.

“A group of qualified employees continue working day and night shifts on the restoration of the pipe, the cleaning and the recovering of the crude oil. They are preventing anything that could affect the health of the community and the surrounding of the area”, affirmed Velasquez Salazar.

It should be pointed out that the Board Director has validated the recovering of the 55 cm fissure and that there hasn't been any signs of corrosion, this eliminates the chances of a suppose lack of maintenance from the company.

Meanwhile, the cause of the damage in the detour of the Peruvian Oil Pipeline is still under investigation.

PETROPERU ratifies its compromise with the preservation of the environment and is working to repair and restore the incident in a short time period.
