Anthem for the national Bicentennial premieres this Friday

A few weeks after celebrating the 200 years of our independence, the virtual concert will be held this Friday, July 2, starting at 8pm, in which the Anthem of the Bicentennial of the Independence of Peru will be premiered, a composition that was sponsored by PETROPERÚ and Sponsored by the Special Bicentennial Project of the Ministry of Culture, the Peruvian Board of Music and Radio Filarmonía.

The official presentation of the anthem, whose authorship falls to María Victoria Vásquez Córdova, with music by María Elena Rossana Diaz Torres, can be followed through the Facebook Live of the PETROPERÚ Cultural Center and the National University of Music (UNM), an entity that was in charge of the contest.

The virtual concert will allow you to enjoy the various musical arrangements that have been made on the Anthem of the Bicentennial of the National Independence, with the participation of the representative groups of the upper house of studies, the National Symphonic Band and also the National Symphonic Orchestra, in addition to an extraordinary choir made up of different choral groups from Peru.

The arrangements are the version for the Symphonic Band, performed by the teacher and clarinetist Luis Vargas Guevara; in charge of the UNM Symphonic Band directed by Maestro Alejandro Díaz Jiménez. Then the arrangement for Symphony Orchestra, performed by Maestro César Vega Zavala, interpretation by the UNM Symphony Orchestra conducted by Maestra Carlota Mestanza Revoredo. To close the program, the choir arrangement will be presented, by Maestro Benjamín Bonilla García.

The version for choir was in charge of 61 choral groups from different cities, selected after a national call carried out under the coordination of the teacher and choral director Jaime Augusto Contreras. These groups will interpret the Hymn of the Bicentennial with the accompaniment on the piano of the teacher Xabier Aizpurua.

In this way, PETROPERÚ continues with the activities for the national anniversary and, through the sponsorship of this composition, seeks to rescue and value the cultural and historical contributions that will be perpetuated in the Bicentennial Anthem, cultivating values and civic awareness at the national level.
