Announcement of international event Reservoir Management organized by ARPEL and sponsored by PETROPERU
On November 9 and 10 will take place the 88th International meeting organized by the Regional Association of Companies of the Oil, Gas and Biofuels Sector in Latin America and the Caribbean ARPEL at an Expert Level (RANE), on “Reservoir Management”. The event is sponsored by PETROPERU and has the support of the Peruvian Society of Hydrocarbons.
“Reservoir Management” is a continuous and multidiscipline process that has the objective of optimizing the exploitation of oil and gas fields throughout their lifetime. To achieve this, it is essential to use adequate techniques to monitor the reservoirs, in combination with recovery techniques, low-cost installation and well drilling, in order to incorporate reserves and increase the economic value of the fields. In consequence, the sustainable development of the fields requires a rigorous work in which experience and technology combine, elements that -in this Congress- will combine to meet the expectations of all the participants.
The presentation of the event was done by Eng. Jesús Angulo, president of the Organizing Committee of the 88th RANE, and of Ronald Egúsquiza, president of the Directing Counsel of the Peruvian Hydrocarbon Society, who agreed on remarking the importance of having this event in the country and invited professionals and technicians of the sector to participate.
The act also had the participation -via teleconference- of Miguel Moyano, director of the ARPEL Upstream, will give a presentation on the next RANE. “The improvement in the access to potential reserves and in their development is one of the main investment stimuli in innovation and knowledge transfer in our industry. Five out of 10 companies considered that increasing the collaboration with other actors is the maximum priority to maintain innovation in a climate of tight costs such as the one were living. In that sense, the mission of ARPEL is to promote the exchange of knowledge and experiences in key areas between the companies that make it up, which produce over 90% of the hydrocarbons in Latin America and the Caribbean”, said Moyano.
The main objective of the RANE is sharing experience on projects, case studies, as well as establishing an idea and information discussion space in which the most recent technologies regarding the integrated reservoir management will be presented. This way, it will draw together an important number of professionals and technicians specialized in the area and academic researchers, to promote the exchange of experiences and best practices amongst the operation and service companies in Latin America.
The primary themes of the Congress are aimed at covering topics related to the revitalizing of mature fields, monitoring reservoirs, reservoir management, reservoir evaluation, gas and gas + condensates reservoir management, and research, development and deployment. These topics are currently framed within the growing challenge of reservoir management, an essential area for successful companies of the E&P that carry out important hydrocarbon projects in our region.
Who should participate of this RANE?
The Congress will be especially interesting for managers and professionals in the areas of reservoirs, exploration, reservoir engineering, reserves, eoengineering/geosciences, field development and production, researchers, consulting companies, representatives from operating companies and contractors of Latin America and the Caribbean.
