3. At the beginning of the State of National Emergency, the purchase of 1,600 liters of alcohol in gel was carried out, in accordance with the shortened procurement procedure of the PETROPERU Procurement and Contracting Regulations. In the market investigation it was determined that only two companies, given the high demand, had the product, and of these, only Global Parts & Services E.I.R.L. However, after laboratory examinations (flammability tests) carried out on said product, it was determined that it did not contain the required percentage of alcohol.
4. Given the events described, legal actions have been initiated in order to communicate this situation to the competent bodies for the corresponding sanctions to the supplier, having supplied an adulterated product. Likewise, the internal investigation process is being carried out to establish corrective measures in this regard.
