Allegedly contaminated fuel was not produced nor sold by Petroperú
Regarding the claim made by the president of the Lambayeque Carrier Association in the media, Petroperú addresses public opinion to specify the following:
- The Eten, Salaverry, Chimbote and Supe terminals are under the management of the Terminales del Perú (TDP) private company, responsible for the reception, storage and dispatch of fuels from different wholesale operators to customers in the north of the country, since November of 2014.
- The allegedly contaminated diesel presented by the carriers has not been invoiced by Petroperú S.A. but rather by another wholesale operator that, like the State company, sells its products in the aforementioned terminals.
- Petroperú guarantees the quality of its products, which are kept stored in tanks that are not mixed with the products of other wholesale operators; they are also subjected to strict quality controls supervised by specialized personnel.
