  • Agreement on the daily wage to be paid to the community members. No more perverse incentives.
  • The Inmac and Servicios Diversos PetroAlianza companies will provide labor intermediation in the spill area, caused by damage by third parties.
  • Cleanup and remediation works under the supervision of the Lamor company.
  • OEFA participated in the meeting and confirmed the agreements adopted by the community.

After finishing a dialogue process that prioritized the permanent concern of PETROPERU for initiating, as soon as possible, the cleanup works in the 54+200 and 55+500 Kms of the North Peruvian Pipeline (ONP), district of Urarinas, province of Loreto, and the demands of the Nueva Alianza Native Community; this past Sunday it was possible to sign an agreement among the parts with the purpose of immediately beginning the removal of the crude confined to the flotation canal and the consequent remediation works in the area.

To that effect, a commission of representatives of PETROPERU and the OEFA traveled to the Nueva Alianza Community to meet with its authorities and the population, where this one ratified the agreements reached on the previous days, during the negotiation process.

On that issue, Luis Zapata Palacios, Communications and Social Management Manager of PETROPERU, indicated that “what’s most important is that in the short term both parties have as a common goal the immediate removal of the crude, to then proceed to clean up and remediate the area, as well as initiating implementation of a social development plan, on the basis of trust and transparency in a multi-actor work, such as the one leading the Dialogue Table for this community, installed at the end of this past August by the National Dialogue and Sustainability Office (ONDS) of the Presidency of the Council of Ministers”.

The cleanup and remediation works are ready beginning and, to that and, there is a permanent coordination with the Apu of the community, Gilter Yuyarima. The work is scheduled to take place over 14 weeks, under normal conditions, having a maximum of 150 people in both events.
