PETROPERU, continuing with its activities of dissemination and promotion of culture - and within the framework of the exhibition "FOSSILE. A Vision of Peru 200 million years ago", offered the Piuran public a talk about the paleontological heritage of the Piura Region.

The event was in charge of the director of the Institute of Paleontology of the National University of Piura (IPUNP), Jean-Nöel Martinez, who highlighted the interest of the state oil company in creating and promoting cultural spaces for the general public.

For the renowned paleontologist, the importance of fossils lies in having a greater knowledge of our planet and, in that sense, made a retrospective on its origins, highlighting the finding of Pampa La Brea, in the province of Talara, rich in hydrocarbons.

The exhibition "FOSSILE. A Vision of Peru 200 million years ago" can be visited until July 31, in the Grau House Museum, in Tacna 662, Piura.
