"Life written by women": new discussion of PETROPERÚ

"Life written by women": new discussion of PETROPERÚ

March is the month in which tribute is paid to women worldwide and, in that sense, PETROPERÚ continues to strengthen the field of letters, this time through a special program called "Life Written by Women", discussion which will have two research specialists with a view to reassessing the female contribution in history.

"The life written by women" is the name of a collection of books directed by the outstanding researcher Anna Caballé and it is precisely from where the title of this conversation is extracted that will address reading, female characters, novelists, essayists and the poets, thanks to the testimonies of two experts on both sides of the Atlantic.

This special program will take place on Saturday, March 20, 2021, at 11 a.m. via the Facebook live of the PETROPERÚ Cultural Center.

The comments will be in charge of Eliana Gonzales, a member of the Peruvian Academy of Language and the interview with Anna Caballé (National History Prize in Spain). In addition, this special program will end with a visit to the National Library of Spain to visit the exhibition dedicated to Concepción Arenal (1820-1893), a key figure in humanism.

The program will be conducted by writer and researcher Juan Manuel Chávez, who from Barcelona will link the guests between Peru and Spain.

The activity responds to the Cultural Policy of the company for disseminating and promoting the study and defense of language, history and literary creation.

The participants:

Anna Caballé

Writer and researcher, she received her doctorate from the University of Barcelona with the thesis Autobiographical literature in Spain (1939-1975), for which she won the Extraordinary Doctorate Prize. She is currently a tenured professor of Spanish Literature at the University of Barcelona. Among her books are Life Written by Women, a four-volume collection that she was in charge of directing and, of course, Concepción Arenal. The walker and her shadow, for which she won the 2019 Spanish National History Prize.

Eliana Gonzales

Teacher and researcher, she received a doctorate in Hispanic Linguistics from the University of Navarra in Spain. She has been Director of Research and Publications of the Faculty of Educational Sciences of the University of Piura, an institution where she is a main professor and for which she performs academic coordination functions. In 2017, she was incorporated into the Peruvian Academy of Language and since 2018 she is a member of the Municipal Council of Book and Reading of Miraflores, a district of Lima that in 2019 awarded her a medal of honor for merit.
